Yu Jianhua said that he welcomed the visit of Gallego and his delegation. The EU is one of China's most important trading partners and also one of China's most important import and export markets for consumer goods. Over the past 18 years since the establishment of the EU-China Consumer Product Safety Cooperation Mechanism, both sides have made joint efforts to maintain consumer product safety and jointly deal with new situations, problems and challenges, achieving a series of practical results. China Customs attaches great importance to the cooperation with EU's Directorate-General for Justice and Consumers, and is willing to work with the European side to implement the new consensus and achievements reached by both sides, effectively improve the safety level of consumer products between both sides, protect consumers' rights and interests, and improve the level of trade facilitation.

Gallego expressed her high appreciation for China's work in attaching great importance to consumer product safety and protecting consumers' rights and interests, as well as its cooperation with China in the field of consumer product safety. She was confident in bilateral cooperation and would like to work with China to jointly explore new paths for cooperation, expand new space for cooperation and strengthen training for the industry through more joint actions, so as to help import and export enterprises to understand China-EU regulations in a timely manner and further improve their compliance level.
