On November 29, the sky was blue and the warm winter sun shone on a rectangular-ambulatory-plane building in Zhengdong New District, Zhengzhou City, which means "window of time and space". The China-Hungary (Zhengzhou) International Cooperation and Industrial Technology Application Demonstration Center was unveiled at Longhu International Center, marking a new chapter in scientific and technological innovation and industrial cooperation between Henan and Hungary.

It is reported that the China-Hungary (Zhengzhou) International Cooperation and Industrial Technology Application Demonstration Center was jointly established by Hungarian Export Promotion Agency and Zhengzhou Municipal People's Government. With the strong support of Hungarian Innovation Agency, commercial departments and foreign affairs departments, it aims to build an international cooperation platform with leading demonstration effect around the needs of industries, talent, economy and trade in Zhengzhou and Central China region. The Demonstration Center Project is an important demonstration project of cooperation between the Hungary Government and Zhengzhou Municipal People's Government.

Good friends feel close even when they are thousands of miles apart. Hungary is the first European country to sign an intergovernmental cooperation document with China on jointly building the Belt and Road Initiative, and it is also China's third largest trading partner in Central and Eastern Europe. This year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Hungary. The relationship has been upgraded to an all-weather comprehensive strategic partnership in the new era, injecting strong impetus into the high-level development of bilateral economic and trade cooperation.

From the Danube to the Yellow River and from Budapest to Zhengzhou, Henan is holding hands with Hungary, an "old friend" of Europe. There are Zhengzhou-Budapest cargo charter flights and China-Europe Railway Express (Zhengzhou)-Hungary Budapest routes in operation. Autobio and other enterprises have entered the Hungarian market, deeply integrating into the international industrial chain and supply chain. In the first 10 months of this year, Henan's imports from Hungary increased by 154.6% driven by imported products such as precision instruments, automotive components and food.

"Although Budapest and Zhengzhou are thousands of miles apart, they have a lot in common: one is located in Central Europe, the other is in Central China. Both are hub cities, guardians of history and culture, and pioneers of future development." Robert Somogyi, Chief Operating Officer of Hungarian Innovation Agency, said, "Innovation is the key to coping with the challenges of the times, but it must be based on cooperation. The booming high-tech industry in Zhengzhou is highly compatible with the dynamic innovation ecology of Budapest, and there is great potential for cooperation in new energy vehicles, clean energy, high-end manufacturing and biotechnology fields. The establishment of the Demonstration Center is the beginning of deepening cooperation."

Csacho Melinda, Customer Director of Hungarian Export Promotion Agency, has a special relationship with Henan. "Henan is one of the 9 offices of Hungarian Export Promotion Agency in China. The establishment of the Demonstration Center in Zhengzhou will play an important role in promoting China-Hungary cooperation in technology, economy and trade, education and culture fields" she said.

On the same day, the Demonstration Center signed a number of key projects with Hungarian Innovation Agency, Universal Translink Airline Co., Ltd., Zhengzhou Research Institute of Beijing Institute of Technology, European Center for Peace and Development of the UN mandated University for Peace and China-Hungary International Logistics Park. Representatives of Chinese and Hungarian enterprises made on-site promotion and matchmaking.

"The Demonstration Center shoulders the four major functions of international scientific and technological cooperation, international trade cooperation, international education cooperation, and international cultural exchanges and cooperation." Zhang Ya, Director of the Demonstration Center, said that the center is committed to building a China-Hungary high-end international science and technology R&D cooperation and international service platform, a China-Hungary international talent gathering and service platform, a China-Hungary international advanced technological achievements industrial application demonstration platform, and a domestic and foreign start-ups gathering and cultivation platform. It works with foreign universities to build a talent training base, provides undergraduate and junior college cooperative education programs, introduces scientific and technological resources, and promotes the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, to further promote the high-level opening up and high-quality development of Henan.

"Hungary is one of the European science and technology innovation centers and has 17 Nobel Prize winners. It has a profound background and outstanding achievements in biomedicine, information technology and scientific and technological research and development." Balogh Andras Zoltan, Science and Technology Counsellor of the Embassy of Hungary in China, said that Hungary-China friendship has a long history and broad prospects for cooperation. Hungarian-Chinese relations have entered a new stage and sailed into the "Golden Seaway". The establishment and operation of the Demonstration Center will deepen and solidify bilateral economic and trade cooperation.
