Recently, a China-Europe Railway Express train loaded with cross-border e-commerce goods including decorative crafts and Spring Festival apparel departed from Zengcheng West Station—Guangzhou's eastern rail-road intermodal transport hub—under the supervision of officers from Zengcheng Customs, affiliated with Huangpu Customs. The train will exit through the Khorgos Port and is expected to reach European markets in 14 days, delivering warm Chinese New Year blessings to overseas consumers.
As one of the key rail freight logistics hubs in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Zengcheng West Station has established an international logistics network covering 34 cities across 17 countries in Eurasia and ASEAN regions, leveraging distinctive services such as the "Single Document" China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan rail-road intermodal line and "9610" cross-border e-commerce train services.
In the first month of 2026, Zengcheng West Station operated a total of 26 international trains with 2,568 TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent units) and cargo value of 473 million yuan. Among these, cross-border e-commerce train shipments reached 475 TEUs, marking an 8% month-on-month increase.
"The Spring Festival stock-up period is tight with scattered orders. The international trains at Zengcheng West Station, with their combination of 'fixed weekly schedules plus expedited customs clearance,' allow us to plan logistics in advance. The punctuality rate exceeds 98%, offering more certainty than air and sea freight timelines," said Zhang Junmei, Operations Manager of the Zengcheng Project at Guangzhou Jiuzhou International Logistics Co., Ltd. Currently, Zengcheng West Station has attracted 11 supply chain enterprises to make it their primary channel for cross-border e-commerce exports, with the local business clustering effect continuing to strengthen.
To help cross-border e-commerce trains run faster and more steadily, Zengcheng Customs has actively supported the quality upgrade of Zengcheng West Station's "China-Europe Railway Express + Cross-border E-commerce" services. The "Railway Express Customs Clearance" model has been fully implemented, enabling "immediate inspection and release" upon train arrival. The customs authority has also facilitated the implementation of the "9610" cross-border e-commerce model, supporting the regular operation of "Cross-border E-commerce Special Trains" and helping more quality Chinese products smoothly reach global markets.
