Recently, Hefei Xinqiao International Airport achieved a significant milestone in air cargo development with the successful inaugural flight of a direct charter freight service to Prague, The Czech Republic. The first cargo charter flight, loaded with 86 tons of winter clothing and other daily necessities—predominantly cross-border e-commerce shipments—departed smoothly from Hefei Xinqiao International Airport bound for Prague. The flight marks a new addition to Hefei's international freight route network with a European gateway and opens an efficient air corridor for Anhui's cross-border e-commerce exports.
Throughout the freight route's establishment, Hefei Customs, through its office at Hefei Xinqiao International Airport, took proactive steps and delivered targeted support, building a comprehensive service guarantee framework. Tailored to the route's characteristics and cross-border e-commerce cargo transport requirements, the office coordinated in advance with airlines and logistics enterprises, mapped out all stages of cargo clearance procedures, and devised customized clearance solutions. By optimizing supervision approaches and reducing clearance time, the office ensured immediate release of cargo upon arrival, providing solid support for the flight's timely departure. It also established an emergency coordination mechanism for the inaugural flight, responding to enterprises' customs needs in real time and promptly addressing transportation bottlenecks, leveraging professional and efficient regulatory services to safeguard route operations.
Currently, Hefei Xinqiao International Airport's international cargo routes connect Central Asia, the European Union, North America, and other regions, with the route network further refined. These connections provide Anhui and surrounding areas with more convenient channels for cross-border e-commerce and manufacturing exports, facilitating smooth and efficient industrial and supply chains. The development also elevates Hefei's International Aviation Cargo Distribution Hub to a new stage. An official from Hefei Xinqiao International Airport Customs noted: "The service guarantee for this inaugural flight represents concrete practice of customs optimizing the business environment and serving the broader opening-up agenda. It has accumulated valuable experience in regulatory services for new international cargo routes and has established a solid foundation for further expansion of international cargo channels and enhancement of cross-border trade facilitation."
