Description of content: The proposed draft Regulation concerns the update of existing MRLs for thiacloprid in certain food commodities. The proposed changes are based upon reasoned opinions of the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA). Lower MRLs are set after deleting old uses which are not authorised any more in the European Union or for which a human health concern may not be excluded.

If no, describe, whenever possible, how and why it deviates from the international standard: The European Food Safety Authority published and statement on the short-term (acute) dietary risk assessment and evaluation of confirmatory data for certain MRLs for thiacloprid. Based on this statement, Regulation (EC) No 396/2005 should be amended following a risk analysis approach.
