A report from China Railway Shanghai Group Co., Ltd. on January 1 reveals that Yiwu's China-Europe Railway Express is scheduled to run 1,300 trips in 2024, including return journeys. This will transport over 140,000 TEUs of cargo, marking an increase of nearly 10,000 TEUs compared to 2023, with a year-on-year growth in shipment volume exceeding 10%.
On that morning around 10:00 a.m., the X8410 China-Europe Railway Express set off from Yiwu West Railway Station, loaded with 110 TEUs of exports like daily necessities, auto parts, and machinery. This marks the first China-Europe Railway Express to depart from the Yangtze River Delta in 2025.

To more effectively cater to the demands of the China-Europe Railway Express, the railways have coordinated efforts to establish a division of labor and cooperation framework between various internal and external departments, creating a closely linked, efficiently operated multimodal transport system that streamlines the freight transport corridors. The Hangzhou Railway Logistics Center, in collaboration with relevant entities, has ensured the availability of vehicles and containers, effectively executing a comprehensive array of processes—ranging from departure and assembly to customs clearance, loading, unloading, vehicle dispatch, and trailer operations. They have also introduced bespoke services such as 'one-to-one', 'one-stop', and 'end-to-end' solutions to guarantee the seamless execution of transportation plans.
Currently, the Yiwu China-Europe Railway Express, which includes routes to Central Asia, has established 20 transportation corridors reaching over 50 countries, including Kazakhstan, Poland, and Germany. The variety of goods transported via the Yiwu China-Europe Railway Express has skyrocketed from over 10,000 in its initial phase to more than 50,000 today. This expansion plays a crucial role in bolstering the economic and social growth of countries and regions along its path, and strongly supports the high-quality collaborative development of the "Belt and Road Initiative".
