Production lines are running at full capacity, with intelligent equipment efficiently assisting workers in testing, packaging, and loading containers. "Orders arrived exceptionally early this year, and in unusually volumes," remarked the workshop supervisor, gesturing towards the bustling production line. "We're now operating three shifts, running 24/7, yet we still can't keep pace." According to Cixi Customs, a branch of Ningbo Customs, Cixi's total heater exports for the first eight months of this year reached 2.32 billion yuan. Exports to the EU alone accounted for 990 million yuan, representing a year-on-year growth of 13.1%.
As one of China's major heater manufacturing bases, Cixi accounts for approximately 30% of the nation's total heater exports. The city is home to over 100 heater manufacturing enterprises, which collectively form a comprehensive industrial ecosystem for home appliances. From mold design and fabrication, injection molding, and surface coating to key components and final product packaging, Cixi provides readily available local suppliers. This robust local sourcing capability greatly enhances the efficiency and competitive edge of Cixi's heater industry, empowering businesses to quickly respond to surging surges in orders.
Fuyun, with an annual manufacturing capacity of over 4 million heaters, is a key contributor to industry standards. "As of August, our orders have surged by 30% year-on-year, and we've expanded our production lines to 16," said Fuyun's Foreign Trade Director. "Our innovative year-round heating and cooling units are becoming a new choice for sustainable homes. This 'two-in-one' design not only resolves the issue of equipment idleness between seasons but also extends product life spans through modular construction, truly upholding the environmental ethos of 'initiating carbon reduction at the household level.'"
In Cixi, many companies, like Fuyun, are experiencing a surge in orders. Ningbo KNSing Appliance Industry Co., Ltd. specializes in manufacturing high-end electric fireplaces, with its entire production dedicated to exports. European and American markets serve as its primary destinations, accounting for over 90% of the company's total exports. In recent years, the company has continuously enhanced the independent innovation capabilities of its technical team, highlighting the aesthetic and decorative aspects of its products. This led to the development of 3D flame effect imaging and variable projection technology, as well as the successful acquisition of a series of practical patent technologies. These achievements have challenged the previous foreign technological monopoly, leading to robust product sales. Furthermore, the company has leveraged intelligent manufacturing to achieve cost reduction and efficiency gains. By establishing smart automated warehouses and developing new ERP systems, it has boosted its storage capacity by 2.5 times and significantly increased its monthly production capacity to 100,000 units, providing a strong foundation for taking on new orders. "In 2025, European countries' heater demand rebounded, with a single UK customer placing an order for 25,000 electric fireplaces worth over 1.2 million USD," said Li Qiang, Foreign Trade Manager of Ningbo KNSing. "From January to August 2025, the company's heater exports reached 50 million yuan, representing a year-on-year growth of 12.9%."
The successful global market penetration of Cixi heaters would not have been possible without the strong support from customs authorities. Faced with a surge in export orders, Cixi Customs guided enterprises to make full use of facilitation measures such as "advance declaration" and "direct loading upon arrival" to shorten customs clearance times. Through the "Enterprise Needs, Customs Response" direct communication mechanism and a "2+X" coordination mechanism with local departments, they provided targeted assistance to resolve enterprise issues, ensuring timely delivery. Moreover, Cixi Customs fully implemented management measures for advanced certified enterprises, exempting qualified firms from processing trade risk deposits. This effectively revitalized enterprise funds and helped reduce burdens and costs for businesses.
Unsatisfied with simply addressing the current order boom, Cixi heater enterprises are increasingly shifting their focus towards long-term development and technological innovation. Many companies have already initiated new product R&D cycles, aiming to stand out in the market with the innovation and competitiveness of "Cixi-made" heaters and further expand their presence in overseas markets.
