Customs statistics show that the total value of agricultural product trade between China and Central and Eastern European countries (hereinafter referred to as CEE) was RMB 6.52 billion in the first half of 2025, a decrease of 4.4% over the same period last year (the same below). Among them, the value of agricultural products exported to CEE reached RMB 5.28 billion, an increase of 14.8%; the value of agricultural products imported from CEE reached RMB 1.24 billion, a decrease of 44.1%.
The main features of the agricultural product trade between China and CEE in the first half of 2025 are as follows:
(I) E-cigarette cartridges (nicotine-containing), edible aquatic products, and dried and fresh fruits & nuts were the main exported products.
In the first half of 2025, China exported RMB 5.28 billion of agricultural products to CEE, with an increase of 14.8%, accounting for 1.2% of the gross export value from China to CEE over the same period. Among them, the e-cigarette cartridges (nicotine-containing) amounted to RMB 1.13 billion, an increase of 12.5%; edible aquatic products RMB 580 million, an increase of 37.5%; dried and fresh fruits & nuts RMB 340 million, an increase of 123.5%.
(II) Dairy products, hops, feathers and downs were the main imported products.
In the first half of 2025, China imported RMB 1.24 billion of agricultural products from CEE, a decrease of 44.1%, accounting for 1.3% of the gross import value from CEE to China over the same period. Among them, dairy products accounted for RMB 350 million, an increase of 25.3%; hops RMB 170 million, an increase of 67.4%; feathers and downs RMB 110 million, a decrease of 40.5%.
(III) Poland, the Czech Republic and Greece were the top three agricultural product trade partners.
China's imports and exports of agricultural products from and to Poland, the Czech Republic and Greece amounted to RMB 2.43 billion, RMB 800 million, and RMB 660 million respectively in the first half of 2025, with an increase of 6.2%, 18.4% and 7.7% respectively, accounting for 37.2%, 12.2% and 10.2% respectively of China's total import and export value of agricultural products from and to CEE in the same month.
