Cuori Electrical Appliancesis a global small appliances manufacturer specializing in garment care and kitchen appliances. "In recent years, we have proactively addressed customer needs in Central and Eastern European Countries (CEEC) market through continuous technological innovation," said company representative Li Guangze. "We have successfully developed a 5-bar high-pressure steam iron and established an integrated garment care center that combines drying, dehumidification, disinfection and ironing functions."
"While we place high importance on developing emerging markets like the CEEC market," Li expressed concern as the Company continued to expand the CEEC market, "the increasingly detailed certification standards for appliance product across CEEC present challenges. Even minor deviations in new products can cause delivery delays, resulting in significant losses for enterprises."
Under this circumstance, Cixi Customs took proactive measures. Leveraging its Citong Technical Barriers to Trade Assistance Center, the Customs authority formed a technical expert team to actively engage with enterprises. They provided targeted interpretations of certification requirements including EU’s CE marking and Poland's B mark certification, while offering specialized guidance on material compliance for key components in products like electric irons to ensure full regulatory compliance. Supported by Cixi Customs, Cuori Electrical Appliances achieved over 25 percent export growth to CEECs in the first seven months of this year.
With strong support from Customs policies, Ningbo's small appliance manufacturers have not only achieved export growth but also steadily built long-term competitiveness in CEEC market. A case in point is Cixi-based Zhejiang Yueli Electrical Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Yueli Electrical"), a specialist in personal care appliances whose products are well-sold in over 100 countries and regions worldwide. Since obtaining Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) certification last year, the company has seen remarkable improvements in customs clearance efficiency. "Customs clearance efficiency is the lifeline of order fulfillment," stated Li Lizhong, Marketing Director of Yueli Electrical. "In the past, our shipments experienced voyage delays and missed vessel schedules from time to time due to customs inspections. Now as an AEO-certified enterprise, our inspection rates have decreased significantly, while customs clearance and logistics costs continue to decline. This has greatly strengthened our confidence in global expansion. We've successfully penetrated upscale distribution networks and supermarket chains across markets in CEECs including Slovenia, Slovakia, and Hungary."
Since the beginning of this year, Cixi Customs has shifted service delivery forward proactively through its innovative Qinqing Direct Service Mechanism that offers Business Needs-Customs Response Platform for Enterprise Development. By identifying and addressing enterprise needs within the jurisdiction, the Customs authority has selected 25 companies with strong credit records and standardized management for its AEO certification cultivation program. The innovative “Customized Enterprise-Specific Solutions” tailored initiative has enhanced certification efficiency, shortened processing times, and helped local businesses fully capitalize on customs policy benefits while strengthening their international competitiveness.
From January to July this year, Ningbo's appliance exports to CEECs reached 2.96 billion yuan, representing 33.5 percent year-on-year growth. From overcoming technical barriers to enjoying policy dividends, and from exporting single products to establishing regional supply chains, Ningbo's appliance industry is now sailing at full speed in CEEC's promising "Blue Ocean Market” or High-growth Potential Market, powered by innovation and quality, and propelled by robust Customs services.
Moving forward, Ningbo Customs will leverage the China-CEEC Customs Information Center to collect Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) measure notifications, monitor export trade data of household appliances to CEEC market, issue technical trade risk alerts, and conduct country-specific TBT research through the Citong Technical Barriers to Trade Assistance Center. These efforts will comprehensively upgrade the technical trade measures system, facilitate service enhancement, and empower more smart-manufacturing home appliances in Ningbo to thrive steadily and sustainably in CEEC market.
