Recently, a shipment of Polish canned salmon salad arrived at Meishan, a sub port of Ningbo, and, after completing customs declaration, on-site inspection, quarantine procedures, and online tax payment, was officially cleared for entry into the Chinese market.
This milestone marks the first time that canned salmon salad from CEECs has been imported into China. Following successful market entries of Polish products such as APIS mead, flour, and other agricultural goods, this high-quality offering further diversifies the choices available to Chinese consumers after its successful entry into the market. With superior strategic location, well-developed infrastructure, and strong institutional support, Ningbo is emerging as the gateway of choice for CEEC products entering China.

Ningbo Detianhou Supply Chain Services Co., Ltd. served as the importer for this batch of canned salmon. According to Chen Shuyan, person in charge of the company, Poland, with its vast coastline, has seen both its wild-caught and farm-raised aquatic products (26 varieties in total) gain export approval to China in recent years. The imported canned salmon salad, made from premium Polish seafood, will cater to Chinese consumers' growing demand for gourmet seafood.
"High-quality products from CEECs are gaining recognition among Chinese consumers through exhibitions and digital promotions," Chen noted. "We participated in several government-led trade missions to CEECs with the Ningbo Municipal Government before finalizing this product. Throughout the import process, Ningbo Customs provided comprehensive guidance and facilitation covering market access compliance and customs clearance procedures. The entire process, from declaration to cargo pickup, took less than 48 hours, significantly boosting our operational efficiency."
In 2025, the 7th China-CEEC Dialogue on Customs, Inspection and Quarantine Cooperation was successfully convened in Ningbo, marking the milestone in deepening bilateral exchanges and cooperation in customs inspection and quarantine measures, with particular focus on enhancing trade security while streamlining clearance processes. Ningbo Customs has been proactively implementing the conference outcomes through its innovative Qinqing Direct Service Mechanism that offers Business Needs-Customs Response Platform for Enterprise Development, providing comprehensive support for CEECs' specialty products entering the Chinese market.
From January to July this year, the total value of CEEC goods imported through the Port of Ningbo reached 6.27 billion yuan, including food imports worth 77.486 million yuan.
