Customs statistics show that the total value of agricultural product trade between China and Central and Eastern European countries (hereinafter referred to as CEE) was RMB 4.32 billion from January to April 2025, a decrease of 2.5% over the same period last year (the same below).
The main features of agricultural product trade between China and CEE from January to April 2025 are as follows:
(I) E-cigarette cartridges (nicotine-containing), edible aquatic products, and dried and fresh fruits & nuts were the main exported products.
China exported RMB 3.43 billion of agricultural products to CEE from January to April 2025, with an increase of 14%, accounting for 1.3% of the gross export value from China to CEE over the same period. Among them, the nicotine-containing products used to make e-cigarette cartridges amounted to RMB 730 million, an increase of 20.3%; edible aquatic products RMB 360 million, an increase of 37.3%; dried and fresh fruits and nuts RMB 240 million, an increase of 204.3%.
(II) Dairy products, hops, feathers and downs were the main imported products.
China imported RMB 890 million of agricultural products from CEE from January to April 2025, a decrease of 37.5%, accounting for 1.5% of the gross value of imports from CEE to China in the same period. Among them, dairy products accounted for RMB 250 million, an increase of 38.6%; hops RMB 130 million, an increase of 60.7%; filling feathers and down RMB 84.421 million, a decrease of 18.5%.
(III) Poland, the Czech Republic, and Greece were the top three agricultural product trade partners.
China's imports and exports of agricultural products from and to Poland, the Czech Republic and Greece amounted to RMB 1.59 billion, RMB 540 million, and RMB 460 million respectively from January to April 2025, with an increase of 8.4%, 26% and 22.9% respectively, accounting for 36.9%, 12.4% and 10.7% respectively of China's gross import-export value of agricultural products from and to CEE in the same month.
